Breakdown:

Caribbean Coast - The week starts off with micro shin to knee high lines, and slowly picks up by Wednesday to a few chest high sets at dusk. Thursday is the peak day of the week, with surf chest to head, but diminishes back to waist high for the weekend.

Pacific Coast - The SSW west swell dies off by the end of the day on Monday with chest to head high leftovers Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday a few overhead sets fill in from the WNW and stick around through Friday evening. By Saturday that swell is gone, with only leftovers from the SW keeping it chest high.

The Long Shot - Another big swell from the NW looks to land next Wednesday evening. Past that, the southern Hemi is picking up so I expect the first SW swell to arrive by the 23rd of February.

Playa Grande

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas

2/7 - We have beautiful morning conditions for the small (knee to waist) surf.  If the swell picks up a little over the next few days everything will be right for some great surf.

Playa Grande

Colin at Una Ola

2/7 - Waist high + waves with fair to good shape. (3ft ) The waves picked up a bit this morning and it is starting to get good.  The sets are inconsistent, but bringing some rippable waves near the chest high range.  We have light offshore winds with glassy surfing conditions, hopefully the wind remains good for a while.

Surf forecasts are predicting similar surfing conditions over tomorrow and dropping off later after that and looks to remain small for a while.

Planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information? Contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

Playa Guiones

Rich at Surfing Nosara

2/8 -The small trend continues here as surf is running about waist high with the occasional stomach to chest high wave coming through every once in a while. It is a bit mushy as of report time around 8:30 and that will remain the case as we continue to approach high tide in a couple of hours. We have some unusual looking skies this morning as it overcast out and almost looks like it is going to rain, which would be pretty wild for this time of year. As a result the surf is kind of mixed up and has a bit of morning sickness on it, though the wind is still very light offshore.

Looking ahead... unfortunately it looks like this small trend is going to continue for the rest of the week. It should remain about the same size and might even drop a little bit. So, do the swell dance and pray for waves! Until then keep your longboards and small wave vehicles close by.

If you guys need anything shoot us an email at info@surfingnosara.com. Also if you haven't already booked your pad for the spring break time frame and are still looking for a good deal, contact Rich at rich@surfingnosara.com, and he will let you know the best places in town that are still available.

Anamars Beach House and Eco-Tours

2/8 - Surf this week was weak! Small waist to chest high almost all week. It did start to build to chest to a little overhead yestarday the 7th and seems as if it may stay there for a day or two.

Looks like the southern hemi is warmimg up and we should get some surf from that way soon.

Pura Vida- check the mag for a better location report. www.anamarssurfermagazine.com and stay tuned to CRSURF.com for all the travel info. We have our new president Senora Laura Chinchilla !!

Dominical

Steve at Jazzys River House

2/6 - Saturday morning lost its edge. A wimpy offshore didn't help clean up the small crumbly waves - it looked a little sloppy but it was actually quite smooth out there with the occasional long fun peak run  The past week has been a decline in size but not in shape. It's been sharp and clean and picture perfect (check Ron's daily photo session) and fairly uncrowded for morning sessions. More bodies for afternoons. Today's surf conditions were hazy just like the sky. It's been one of those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. Jesse had an out-of-sorts morning session due to sitting straight-backed through the directors' cut of 'The Blues Brothers' up at Cinema Escaleras 'Movies in the Jungle' last night. His buddy Craig seemed to have a productive session as did most of the longboarders. Dominical's pioneer paddle boarder Brendan has been dominating the north end near the rivermouth for the last two weeks now.  When it's this mellow scratch Dominicalito and the point.  Hermosa south is no doubt fun and today was the site of Zeb & Abe's birthday party.  Still working on a Lifeguard Fundraiser. Sooner the better.

Dominical

Trevor at Land Assurance

2/7 - This morning the tide was full, wind offshore, and the waves  head high. Wave shape is good, with long rides near the high tide mark. Weekend crowds, but room for everyone! Currenlty it is sunny with light winds. Dominical will have the most size, but southern beach breaks should aslo be good this weekend and into next week! Check LandAssurance.com for Dominical Daily surf reports and photos!

2/6 - Pretty small with clean conditions all week. 1-3' waist to chest high. A few fun ones to be caught in the morning sessions before the tide went out and on shores picked up.

Point and south beaches. Find out what is happening at the Escuela Camino Claro.
