CR Surf Travel Company is looking for college student interns to help with extra research and media relations projects. Below are a list of positions and the skills requested. These are not paid internships, but the work experience will be invaluable. You may also be able to work with your department to get credit for your time. Work environment

Graphic Designer

1. Creates high quality artwork  for the website (catalogs, advertisements, text headings)
2. Creates new webpage layouts
3. Edits video for web production
4. Edits photos for print and web production
5. Creates Flash animation
6. Creates artwork and layout for media (brochures, posters, tshirts)

Required knowledge:

• You must be able to speak and write in English. (It does not have to be perfect)
• You must have access to a computer with an internet connection
• You should be able to speak and write in Spanish
• Mandatory experience using:  Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks
• Preferred experience on Myspace, Facebook, and YouTube

Web Programmer

1. Optimize web appearance and upload times
2. Maintain and upgrades web databases
3. Create and maintain forms and surveys
4. Maintain all web accounts
5. Use OpenX software to manage online advertisers
6. Create an integrated blog for website
7. Manage online travel shop software
8. Use Google Analytics to track web statistics
9. Manage Google Adsense account

Required knowledge:

• You must be able to speak and write in English (It does not have to be perfect)
• You must have access to a computer with an internet connection
• You should be able to speak and write in Spanish
• Experience using:  Flash, Dreamweaver, PHP, DHTML, CSS
• Preferred experience with:  OpenX, API, ASP
• Experience on Myspace, Facebook, and YouTube helpful

Marketing and Advertising Sales

1. Analyzes markets for Costa Rica tourism
2. Creates leads lists
3. Sells advertising space on website
4. Creates presentations to promote the website
5. Creates hotel and surf tour partnerships
6. Creates and maintains online groups (YouTube, Myspace, and Facebook)
7. Creates marketing analysis for business plan

Required knowledge:

• You should be able to speak and write in Spanish.
• Experience using:  Excel, Acrobat, Powerpoint, Word
• Preferred experience using: OpenX and Google Adsense

Journalist

1. Researches Costa Rica travel, environmental, and community news
2. Researches environmental laws and current issues in Costa Rica
3. Translates articles from one language to another – English and Spanish
4. Creates videos to highlight current events
5. Writes press releases for website
6. Post articles to online blogs, groups, and updated web pages

Required knowledge:

3. You must be able to speak and write in Spanish.
4. Mandatory experience using:  Word, Acrobat
5. Preferred experience using: Myspace, Facebook, and YouTube

Accountant

1. Maintains all income/expense accounts
2. Creates sales forecasts
3. Analyzes trends in hours worked, income, and expenses
4. Prepares monthly reports
5. Analyzes cash flow for optimization
6. Creates financial portion of a business plan to submit for a loan

• You should be able to speak and write in Spanish.
• Experience using:  Excel, Quickbooks
