CARLOS ENRIQUE BRENES :: FEDERATION OF SURF

Today's Date: 10/19/2017

The best year for the best track record in the history of participation in the World Ranking Series (WQS), Leilani McGonagle, who currently stands 32nd (among 392 athletes), is about to define her year-end position in the next 15 days .

This Friday the Kölbi rider departs for the second time this year to Japan, only this time to compete in the White Buffalo Women's Pro, worth 3,000 points, running from the 26th to 29th of October, and then goes to Australia on November 2nd to 5th, worth 6,000 points in New South Wales.

Leilani, who recently made her first WQS in Chile where she paid 1,500 points to her status in the ranking, moved that made her jump 12 positions, is directed to Japan and Australia in search of 12 more positions that make it to the Top 20.

However, with two good results she could even go up to the Top 10, qualifying for the first world division in 2018 (WCT), where a Central American has never competed. She has 4,750 points. With 2,000 more points it would go to the Top 20 and with 5,000 more to the Top 10, approximately.

The Tica leaves this Friday and would return to the Costa Rica in December.
