VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS NEEDED FOR THE ANNUAL SOULSTICE SURF EXPRESSION SESSION CONTEST

There will be a volunteer / sponsor meeting on Sunday, June 7th at 6PM at Cabinas Las Olas in Playa Hermosa.  Volunteers and Sponsors are needed to help with this event which comprises two beach cleanups and a local surf contest. 

What is needed?  Volunteers with 4x4 vehicles are needed to assist with the beach cleanup efforts in Playa Guacalillo.  Trash bags, rubber gloves and helping hands are needed for both beach cleanups.  During the first few weeks in June, volunteers are needed to help collect raffle prizes, donations and sponsors for the contest.  If you are able to volunteer, please come to the meeting on Sunday, June 7th at 6PM at Cabinas Las Olas. 

The Soulstice Surf Expression Session is an annual charity surf contest organized by local residents and business owners and held every June in front of Cabinas Las Olas.  It was created to bring locals together in Playa Hermosa to develop programs that positively impact the surf community.  Surfer participants get to shred in an informal surf contest, "expression session," and compete for prizes donated by local businesses from the Central Pacific region. 

A raffle, art show and board sale will be followed by live music at the Backyard Bar.  This event raises money through contest entries, raffles, and donations during a day of fun and celebration.  If you would like your logo on the back of the poster, please contact lasolascr@hotmail.com:  the cost is $100 and the deadline for logo entry is Monday, June 1st.  The money is used to create awareness for beach recovery and recycling efforts in Playa Hermosa de Jacó.  

The event will be held this year on Saturday June 20th from 8 am to 5 pm at Cabinas Las Olas in Playa Hermosa.  Meet at Las Olas at 2 pm on Thursday, June 18th to join a beach clean up expedition to Playa Guacalillo; then again at 3 pm on Friday, June 19th for a beach clean up of Playa Hermosa followed by an organizational meeting and dinner on 3rd Floor of Surf Inn Hermosa (www.surfinnhermosa.com).
