Project AWARE ~ International Cleanup Day ~ September 19th

Dear divers, nature enthusiasts or anyone in for a nice day helping the environment,
Splash for trash with Diving Safaris on International Cleanup Day! We need divers and volunteers to help remove underwater and shoreline debris and collect data for Playa Hermosa on 19 September 2009.
Divers are the guardians of our underwater environments – they often see the negative effects marine debris has on delicate ecosystems first-hand. This event is the largest single day volunteer event on behalf of our underwater environment. Literally thousands of volunteers participate across the globe. It’s an extraordinary example of how people are working together to take action.
Diving Safaris organizes local cleanups in partnership with the Project AWARE Foundation, who coordinates cleanup activities across the globe. To volunteer, visit our store, send us an email or call us at: info@costaricadiving.net / 506-2672-1259
Divers and shoreline volunteers of all ages can participate. Bring your friends and family to help make clean waters a reality.
Next to cleaning up the beach and ocean, there will be a kids drawing competition, a raffle, hotdogs, live music, awards and of course the wonderful feeling of having contributed to nature.
The meeting point will be our shop in Playa Hermosa at 9am, from where we get everybody organized and ready to get cleaning. The clean up will take place until about 12pm, after which we head back to the shop for some entertainment after a hard days work.
Please feel free to forward this information and the attached event poster to friends and family who may be ready to jump in their wetsuits, pull on their gloves and make a splash for trash!
