Malakai Martínez could be the 1st Tico to surf at Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch - QuikSilver Young Gun Contest

Malakai Martínez - QuikSilver Young Gun 2018 Contest Video

Today's Date: 6/14/2018

The first tico to participate for a place at the Quiksilver Young Guns 2018 final, an event that brings together the best Sub 18 each year, is the Guanacaste player Malakai Martínez, who has already uploaded his video online in search of a pass to the final of the event that will run in the famous artificial wave created by Kelly Slater.

Malakai, who has already reached this final twice, of three that has participated since the qualification rounds, could become the first Costa Rican to surf the legendary, tubeadora, but fast wave formed thanks to technology.

To reach the final, the "Malakrianza" must overcome the challenge that the brand opened on Instagram (Click to see it) and then pass two more rounds where it will undergo a jury election, as well as online votes from the public that puts it at the Surf Ranch.

The video that Malakai climbed does not lack anything. It is loaded with air, power surfing, but above all, tubazos in Hawaii under a considerable size in the most famous wave in the world, the Banzaii Pipeline of the North Shore, on Oahu.

If the tico reaches this end, he would be saving a millionaire sum of money. This is because the rates published by the same Slater to surf his wave to the public, reach $ 850 each ... As he reads it!

An hour surfed in the Surf Ranch has a cost of $ 10,000, of which the administration ensures you generate a maximum of 12 waves in that time. At this rate they also add food, video, photos and free parking, among other benefits.

On June 18, the time ends for the best Juniors in the world to upload their video online, from there they will go to June 23 where a jury will select the best 8 and then, from June 25 to July 2, the public will vote to see which are the best four that will go to the Surf Ranch.

The final will take place on July 27 next.

Next, the video with which the first tico, Malakai Martínez, entered.
