SURFRIDER FOUNDATION TAMARINDO ORGANIZES FUN BEACH DAY AT HACIENDA PINILLA TO BENEFIT BEACH CLEANUP AND LIFEGUARDS

Saturday, June 20, 12 p.m. To Sunset, $20, $10 for Nationals

      In a gallant effort to “think globally and act locally,” the Surfrider Foundation Tamarindo has organized a fun-filled day of beach and surf-related activities on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Hacienda Pinilla to coincide with the sixth edition of the International Surfing Day. The worldwide event—where surfers and beachgoers alike have a chance to unite while enjoying a full-range of surf-related activities sponsored by Surfrider everywhere—will also take place on Saturday, June 20,2009 along international coasts in countries such as Argentina, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, England, France, Ghana, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Hawaii, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Mayotte, the Netherlands, New-Caledonia, New-Zealand, Norway, Porto Rico, Portugal, the Reunion Island, Senegal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the USA, the Virgin Islands and more.

     In Tamarindo, Surfrider has put together a day at Hacienda Pinilla that takes place from 12 p.m. until Sunset, and features live music on the beach by rock bands The Banana Kings and The Leatherbacks, free giveaways by local surf shops, demos by Surftech, free food, volleyball, bocce ball and the showpiece of the day—a 45-minute surf “Junior Jam” Expression Session whereby kids under 15 can show their skills and win great prizes.

     The cost for the Tamarindo International Surf Day event is $20, $10 for nationals, with the first 50 people to buy tickets automatically signed up for Surfrider membership. 100% of the proceeds from the day will benefit the Tamarindo Surfrider Foundation Beach Cleanup Program and for the Tamarindo Lifeguards. This money pays the salaries of the employees who cleanup the beach and keep the beach protected and safe.

     “Surfrider Foundation Tamarindo is ecstatic to link globally with our local event celebrating International Surfing Day 2009 at Hacienda Pinilla,” said Brian Bratton, president of Surfrider Foundation Tamarindo. “As surfers all over the world have their activities, with the generosity of Hacienda Pininlla in donating the great beach location and we're set to have an amazing day of surfing fun! I hope that everyone comes out to support the cause...lifeguards and a clean beach are crucial to our town! It's going to be a classic day, let's have some fun.”

LA FUNDACION SURFRIDER ORGANIZA UN DIA DE DIVERSIONES EN HACIENDA PINILLA CON EL FIN DE RECAUDAR FONDOS PARA LA LIMPIEZA DE LA PLAYA Y PARA LOS SALVAVIDAS.

Sábado 20 de junio 2009, de las 12 PM hasta el atardecer.  $20 para extranjeros, $10 para nacionales

Como un ejemplo estelar de la frase “pensamientos globales, actos locales”, La Fundación Surfrider organizó un día lleno de diversiones como el surf y otras actividades de la playa para el sábado 20 de junio, 2009 en Hacienda Pinilla.  Esta fecha coincide con la celebración del sexto Día Internacional del Surf.  En este evento mundial, surfistas y amantes de la playa se reúnen para disfrutar de actividades relacionadas al surf en todas partes del planeta patrocinadas por La Fundación Surfrider.  Esta fecha, el 20 de junio, 2009, se celebrará en Argentina, Australia, Canadá, Costa Rica, Inglaterra, Francia, Ghana, Guadalupe, Guyana, Hawai, Irlanda, Italia, Japón, Corea, Maritutius, México, Moroco, Mayotte, Holanda, Nuevo-Caledonia, Nuevo Zelanda, Noruega,  Puerto Rico, Portugal, Isla Reunión, Senegal, España, Suiza, Taiwán, Los Estados Unidos, Las Islas Virgen y mas.

En Tamarindo, Surfrider ha organizado una actividad en Hacienda Pinilla la cual empezará a las 12 pm y continuará hasta el atardecer, incluyendo música  en vivo en la playa presentada por las bandas The Banana Kings y The Leatherbacks, regalos de parte de las tiendas de surf, muestras de tablas hechas por Surftech, comida de gratis, voleibol, bochi bol y una competencia amigable de surf para los jóvenes con menos de 15 años donde se ganarán premios fabulosos por estilo personal.
