SLI - Liability

Mandatory unless customer can provide evidence of Costa Rican liability coverage. The liability insurance limits the responsibility of the client over damages it may cause to third parties or properties to 20%. The insurance has coverage of up to 40 million colones per person (~$70,000 at 575 colones per $1.00 US) and 100 million colones per accident (~$174,000)

CDW - Collision Damage Waiver

The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) limits the responsibility of the client over the rented vehicle to a deductible From $750 to $1500 in case of accident and From $1250 to $2000 in case of theft depending on the type of Vehicle.

 CDW+ - Collision Damage Waiver Plus

The CDW Plus covers damages to the rented vehicle caused by accident, this insurance has no deductible. The deductible in case of theft or robbery of $1500 applies.  Only to rentals of more than 3 days and to customers with foreign licenses.  The CDW is included in the CDW PLUS, meaning that it is not need to purchase both coverage

VIC (Vandalism Coverage)

This coverage is against to vandalism acts to the rented vehicle and covers theft or damages to the radio, locks and broken windows, applies only to rentals of three days or more. The cost of this insurance is $5.00 per day for all the categories.
