The surfing tides are swinging back to the morning window and if the swell will smooth out a little, we should have some good surf here and there.

It is raining in the afternoon, but the mornings are mostly sunny. There aren’t many people here.

If you want to help protect the turtles and don’t come by motor boat to Grande and avoid the motor boat tours in the estuary to conserve the salt water forest in the park.

Bring insect repellant, sun screen, and rain gear - a girlfriend/boyfriend wouldn’t hurt.

Take the ferry boat to Tamarindo and avoid the toothy wildlife.

Tamarindo

A fading SW swell is making room for a even better SSW swell that will hit the point breaks along the coast, Tamarindo´s river mouth has been really fun, heavy and fast 3-4ft waves, glassy mornings within the outgoing tides, early onshore winds by 9am, plus the stormy days of an usual (thankfully more normal) rainy season moving a lot of water within the change of tides, watch out for the strong currents and undertows due the huge tide changes related to the change of moon. Line up not too crowded on the inside, meaning that the tourist season slow down, giving us more time to surf and ride some of those beasts.

Pico Grande, Henrry and behind the Island are the best breaks that hold even along the high tide when the wind is blasting from SW, its been crowded with locals, so its better to be in good shape to claim your waves and don´t wipeout at the wrong spot.

Jazzys River House - Dominical

Unsettled weather, unsettled surf. We've had 6'- 8' waves lately but the direction is wrong and the daily rainstorms are no help. Few peaks, mostly long closed-out walls has been the norm. The Point has had some short windows with decent waves but it's been unpredictable at best. Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito have fared better with smaller waves and a little cleaner conditions.

Hotel Roca Verde is still hosting the G-String Cowboys on Thursday nights with Nancy Buchan joining in adding her wild, electric fiddle to the mix. Come early and stay late. Great music, great food, great family dining.

Hotel Roca Verde is hosting a new version of the G-String Cowboys on Thursday nights. Friday night regulars Ben Jammin' & the Howlers are taking a leave of absence and their electric fiddle star Nancy Buchan has joined Kenny and Shorty of the G-String Cowboys to form a delightful new trio with Nancy's fiddle complimenting Kenny's acoustic guitar superbly.

Check www.jazzysriverhouse.com for low season specials or stop by and visit Ruby in her studio/gallery and ask about her popular class which she calls 'Palm Part Art'. Learn the ancient crafts of weaving, plaiting, twining, sewing, etc... Also see Steve for relief from body aches and pains as his East/West massage therapy can be quite helpful. Also see Steve for surf lessons and board rentals and instruction in 'Traditional Taoist Revitalization Exercises'.
