It has been pretty small but there have been some lovely gems during the past week especially if you broke out the longboard.

This weekend and the upcoming week will prove to be one of the best of the season. A very large long period SW swell will be filling in with five feet at 18 seconds. This swell will put standouts over double overhead. Wind conditions are forecast to be very good in the mornings.

Big swell, big STRONG currents.

Check out Salvemonos.org. Buy a souvenir T, sticker or mug at Luna Llena hotel or Azul Profundo Boutique. All proceeds go directly to our beloved monkeys. Thanks and be safe!

The tides are good for the next week with head high perfect surf on Friday with light off shores all day.

There were plenty of surfers in the water but plenty of good waves to go around and a good vibe on the several peaks that were working. The swell is jumping up and down and the surf should be good as long as it doesn’t get too big.

If you want to help protect the turtles and don’t come by motor boat to Grande and avoid the motor boat tours in the estuary to conserve the salt water forest in the park.

Bring insect repellant, sun screen, and rain gear - a girlfriend/boyfriend wouldn’t hurt.

Take the ferry boat to Tamarindo and avoid the toothy wildlife.

Flat days in Tamarindo, knee high perfect to teach toddlers how to surf. Sunny days are more consistent, off shore winds and clear nights announces the Veranillo de San Juan is in Guanacaste.

Traveled down the coast in the search of a wave and was able to ride some in Guiones, 2ft waves, not too crowded, glassy and long rides not too far from the shore, that made the whole drive worth it.
