Caribbean Coast – Short period wind swells is the call this month, with the only big surf caused by tropical storms forming south of the Yucatan. There are still many days of fun stomach high glassy waves and the beaches are some of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Try hiking through Cahuita or Manzanillo National Park.
Pacific Coast – The waves pick up starting on the 6th and by the 8th will reach 2-3 feet overhead from a SSW swell. Another swell follows close behind so it stays big through the 15th. Then the second half of the month has smaller surf in the head high to overhead range, with no big swells expected.
