Costa Rica Surf Report and Forecast for July 2013
Costa Rica Surf Report and Forecast for October 2013
By: Greg Gordon – www.crsurf.com
FORECAST
Caribbean Coast – There has been consistent swell already showing and with the tropical storm season in full swing expect continued chest to head high swell with pockets of well overhead waves when a hurricane pushes west and north. No hurricanes have ever directly hit the Costa Rica coast, but can pull lots of squalls behind it.
Pacific Coast – Two pulses of Southwest swell will push in overhead waves this month. The first arrives around the 9th with max sets 2-3 feet overhead and the second won’t show until the 23rd and that one will have bigger sets, reaching double overhead and lasting through to the 27th. Rainy season squalls may keep it onshore in the morning so it’s better to plan what breaks to surf around the tides, rather than the time.
New moon – September 5th Full Moon – September 19th
