Tamarindo Surf Report from Seafari CR
Playa Grande Surf Report from Hotel Las Tortugas – January 13, 2019
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 1/6 -
This is the busiest time of the year in Tamarindo and perhaps all over Guanacaste, have fun and keep it clean. Crowds in Tamarindo are granted everyday, waves 1-2ft in the best sets, very strong off shore wind all day long blasting sand on the beach combers.
We had been traveling in the search of better waves and not so crowded breaks and found them in Camaronal with fairly consintent 3ft waves and surprising sets up to 5ft every 10 minutes, not crowded at all and light winds until noon when gradually shifted from SW.
Seafari Costa Rica offers “Basics of Surfing” an entry level program with a 1 to 1 instructor/student ratio, whether 4 or 7 days; 2 hour progressive lessons and one surf trip. Perferct for families, a small group, couples or single traveler planning on check out the bucket list Learning to Surf.
