Caribbean - A 10 foot ENE swell (76 degrees) with a 9 second period pushes in overhead surf and drops by Wednesday. Then a new ENE swell arrives with the same size and period, pushing it back up to overhead peaks through Monday.
Pacific - A Small Southwest short-period swell is picking up Thursday and a secondary South windswell holds steady but it will be mostly waist to chest high surf with a rare head high set this week, and smaller through the weekend.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 12/3 - We are enjoying beautiful, just overhead surf this week. The tides are in the morning and the wind is off-shore. Long sessions with hollow makable barrels and long rides with a mile of stable peaks up and down the golden sand beach. This is some of the best surf of the year with perfect conditions that will most likely last into the weekend. There are plenty of surfers here, but lots of waves to go around. The insects have been mostly devoured by their predators and you can skip the repellant and bring sunscreen.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 12/2 - Waves in Tamarindo had been very fun, 2ft solid and consistent, although the currents are strong due the large amount if water moving with the change of tides. Line up fairly busy, as the local prob riders are back home for the holidays and the surf schools are un full on operation for the high season. Avellanas is lit, mostly the point breaks, incoming tides in the early morning are rewarding, 3-5ft, clean and long rides.
Nosara
Andres at SurfingNosara.com - 12/3 - This morning was beautiful, very sunny morning blue sky and some waves in the lineup. Conditions this morning were OK, waves running shoulder to head high with a little current to the north side of Guiones.
South Nicoya Peninsula
Mal Pais
Solspot - 12/3 - 1-2 feet with a dominant SSW short-period swell. Primary Swell: 2.2ft. 6.4 seconds 201 degrees (SSW). Secondary Swell: 1ft. 12.5 seconds 208 degrees (SSW). Small Southwest med-period swell holding and South windswell steady.
Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 11/29 - Cloudy and Overcast today in Playa Hermosa – Medium Winds and Fair Conditions with Rains in the area 4-6ft+ SSW Building – Chest to Head. Outlook is to ease thru the weekend.
We are offering Surf & Fitness Packages: Surfing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), yoga, fitness, healthy food & plenty of good times included! More information.
Manuel Antonio / Dominical
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 12/3 - Today we had very clean conditions with about 2ft waves. Really fun waves to surf.
Steve Fergus at Jazzys River House - 12/3 - 3' - 4' waves this morning with decent shape. Fairly clean lines and even a few quick barrels. Mild offshore with a partly cloudy sky. Small crowds and overall good conditions. Relatively mellow currents making it a relatively easy paddle out. Playa Hermosa smaller and a little messier. Dominicalito a little too small and mellow.
Southern Zone
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 12/3 - 1’-2’ with poor to fair shape. The surf is even smaller today, but at least there is something to ride on the sets. Should be fun for longboarding once the tide fills in a bit. There should be more waves out in Punta Banco, but I’ll just stick around here and see what comes through on the incoming tide.
The Caribbean
Solspot - 12/3 - 4-5 feet with a dominant ENE med-period swell. Primary Swell: 8.2ft. 8.2 seconds 71 degrees (ENE). East-Northeast med-period swell holding.
