AREA REPORTS

Northern Nicoya Peninsula

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 11/25 - The tides are moving into the morning slot this week and the surf conditions look good for a great week as long as the swell doesn’t get too much larger than the head high surf we are enjoying now.  The current afternoon sessions have been slightly sloppy, but fun.  Because Playa Grande is one of the few surf spots in our area breaking with any power, there are a lot of surfers in the water at certain tides.  If you are concerned about the nesting turtles please avoid arriving for surfing here in a boat.

Tamarindo

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 11/24 - Small yet really fun waves in Tamarindo, 1-2ft with early north winds, best breaks within the incoming tides, River mouth and sand bars are the most crowded, also the most consistent breaks.

Langosta beach still active with the fading SW swell, 2ft some 3ft on the best sets, not too crowded and stronger winds in the mid mornings.

Early bird bookings this Winter Seafari Costa Rica offers 3 private surfing lessons package $ 228 1 person / $400 2 people, includes round trip transportation, 2 hours board rental, rash guard, beach towel and soft drinks, also free Rae footage from a GoPro camera. Glitter 2018 festival in Tamarindo, first Gay festival for an inclusive community LGTBI+

Playa Hermosa South similar but smaller as usual.  Dominicalito a little too small.
Check www.jazzysriverhouse.com for late season specials or come by and visit Ruby in her fine art studio/gallery to see her work and ask about her popular class.  Learn the ancient crafts of weaving, twining, plaiting and sewing and other techniques.  Also see Steve for relief of body aches and pains, stiffness and soreness as his East/West massage therapy can be most helpful.
