Overview
Caribbean - Dropping ENE swell leaves waves only waist high by Wednesday and by Friday its flat and stays that way through the weekend. A slight bump to knee high Tuesday but nothing bigger expected.
Pacific - Waves from the Southwest (218 degrees, 2 feet at 16 seconds) arrive Wednesday pushing in surf 1-2 feet overhead for the main beach breaks. The Guanacaste Coast will be a foot bigger than farther south, but get on it fast as it drops quickly Friday and by Saturday it's down to waist high. Some WNW swell arrives Sunday for some chest high sets, and more SSW swell pushes in head high sets by Tuesday. A big SSW is expected for the end of the month (4.4 feet at 16 seconds by 3/30) so time to wax up those step up boards.

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 3/18 - The surf here has been on the large size with well overhead sets. Conditions are good and should hold for the rest of the week. If it settles down a little there will be more open waves on the sets and could get super excellent.

Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 3/20 - Waves are generally waist high in Manuel Antonio. Waves are shoulder to head high with the sets in Dominical. Best tide right now is in the early afternoon. Conditions are good, there has been little wind, keeping the waves open versus choppy. Best place to surf is Playitas, Isla Damas and Dominical.
Steve at Jazzys River House - 3/18 - Early morning low tide session small, clean - almost glassy - but mostly closed out. Moderate offshore, partly cloudy sky and uncrowded. Mid-afternoon mid-tide small...3' - 4'. Steady side-shore breeze kept the water ruffled and choppy but while the waves weren't pretty they were fun. Plenty of long bumpy rides and not many out.
Southern Zone
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 3/20 - The waves picked up with chest high wave with some inconsistent overhead sets. It was closing out a bunch on the lower tides, but cleaned up, then shut down on the extreme high tide. Eventually, glassing off as the tide began to recede this evening.
