Overview
Caribbean - Smaller waves from Wednesday through the weekend, knee high until late Monday when a new ENE arrives and keeps the waves chest to head for the following week with a few overhead sets.
Pacific - Fading South swell with surf waist to chest high through Thursday and the dropping to knee to waist with a rare chest high set for the weekend and until next Friday. Then a new South and SW combo swell pushes it back up to head high for a couple of days.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 1/8 -The daybreak surf tides are beginning this week and the head high swell size has been perfect. The off-shores have been turning and blowing out the afternoon surf for the last couple of days. There are still some good Florida style waves coming through in the late afternoon. Over all conditions look good this week for the surf in Playa Grande if it doesn’t get too big. The crowds have quieted down and the water is warm.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 1/6 -
Nosara
Andres at SurfingNosara.com - 1/8 - Another beautiful day and fun conditions guys. The waves are a great, smolle and fun. They run waist to chest high with faster shapes and the tide was hig. Probably when tide started to change is good time for enjoy the wave.

Low tide sessions are offering well shaped peaks with occasional barrels and higher tides produce small but fun waves with excellent conditions under bright blue skies. Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito have had small fun waves all week with excellent summer conditions and the usual summer crowds.
