AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 2/3 -Since the high tide is in the afternoon right now, the off-shores have been a little flukey at the best surfing tides and a few high potential sessions have been blown out even though the waves were bigger (2 feet overhead) this week end. We are back to smaller surf now and in a few days the tides will be high enough to catch daybreak and our morning consistently good surf cycle will begin again. The water is still warm from the week end on- shores.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 2/3 - Beautiful sunny days, off shore wind all day and fun 2ft+ waves at the sand bars, crowded line up so it's a good thing to be picky about your waves. Langosta point break 8 is a good idea within the low tides, fast and hollow rides are giving a good shade from the sun.
Nosara
Brayan at SurfingNosara.com - 2/5 - Great morning with nice conditions. The waves are goood, they run waist high to chest high with the tide was low.
Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 2/5 - LEFTOVER SSW 3-4ft WAIST HIGH AND FUN – OUTLOOK THE SAME THE NEXT FEW DAYS – Clean and beautiful at the beach this morning with low tide – Sun is out strong in Playa Hermosa.
Local’s Corner: – Every Weekend don’t miss the Master’s Surf Series – 4PM on Fridays and the Saturday Surf Series on Saturdays – 4PM in front of the Backyard Bar.
Mark your calendars for the Los Suenos Signature Triple Crown Fishing Tournament - Dates: Leg Two Feb 27- March 2; Leg Three - March 27-30.
The Bamboo Bass Festival 2019 is being held this year at the park at Ocean Ranch Feb 22-24th. Among the artists who will perform in Costa Rica this February include Mr. Carmack, Craze, AC Slater, Stylust, Flava D, Truth, Stööki Sound and Zeke Beats.
Manuel Antonio / Dominical
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 2/5 - The waves were very small about 3-4 feet today. It was also windy today.
Steve Fergus at Jazzys River House - 2/5 - Afternoon higher tide wasn't pretty but was exceptionally fun. Shifting breezes including an occasional offshore ruffled the water but the small waves stayed open all the way to the sand. Lots of waves for a fairly small crowd. Early morning low tide turned on some clean barrels, especially at the river mouth. Good day in Dominical. Good reports from the point lately - some surprising good conditions - even at low tide. Dominicalito has had some small but fun waves as has Hermosa South.
Southern Zone
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 2/5 - Ankle to knee high waves. It’s flat! Light winds most of the day.
The Caribbean
Solspot - 2/5 - 3-4 feet with a dominant ENE short-period swell. Primary Swell: 7.7ft. 7.4 seconds 64 degrees (ENE). Forecast - East-Northeast short-period swell steady.
