Overview

Caribbean - It's another small week of surf on the Caribe side with maybe a few knee high waves at the beach breaks, but otherwise flat until next Tuesday when a small ENE swell pushes in some waist high waves.

Pacific - The current SSW (197 degrees ) is fading out with only a background SW swell keeping it waist to chest high for the weekend. Then a new SSW arrives (215 degrees - 2.3 ft at 15 seconds) that will fill in next week, providing some overhead sets for the rest of the week.

Marbella is a good option for more advanced surfers, 2-3ft hollow, glassy and fast waves, fairly crowded, but all breaks were lit up.

Manuel Antonio / Dominical

Dominical

Steve at Jazzys River House - 4/20 - The Dominical Semana Surf Contest was a success as always; two days of sun, fun, rain and excellent surfing.  Final standings will be posted.  Low tide mornings have been small, thick and crunchy.  Long dumping walls with short shoulders.   Nobody out.  Yesterday the contest opened mid-morning on the rising tide with improving conditions featuring increased size and cleaner shape until the side-shore wind took over churning up  and crumbling the faces.  The last few heats of the contest today were plagued with intermittent storm conditions and light rain showers.  Contestants maintained high level surfing despite inconsistent conditions.  Punta Dominical and Dominicalito have had short windows of good conditions at higher tides.

Hotel Roca Verde is the spot for live music each Friday night featuring the 'G-String Cowboys' with Nancy Buchan adding high excitement with her electric fiddle.  Come early for great food, great live music amid the beautiful beachside venue.

Check www.jazzysriverhouse.com for specials and discounts or come by and visit Ruby in her fine art studio/gallery and ask about her ever popular classes where she teaches such time honored ancient crafts as weaving, twining, plaiting, sewing etc...

Southern Zone

Pavones

Una Ola Pavones Surf CampColin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 4/23 - It’s pretty flat here in Pavones today!  The surf is tiny and gutless this morning knee high dribblers on the sets.  Good for beginners, but not much else.  A dropping tide and building onshore winds don’t make it look promising. It was cloudy and overcast with light onshore winds this morning. Should see a touch more waves on Thursday.

The Caribbean

Salsa Brava

Solspot Surf Forecast

Solspot - 4/23 - 2-3 feet with a dominant ENE short-period swell. Primary Swell: 4.6ft. 6.9 seconds 67 degrees (ENE). Partly cloudy in the morning with moderate winds from the WSW. Light rain shower in the afternoon with moderate winds from the NNE.
