AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 7/3 - The wind is holding off-shore for most days and the somewhat ragged just overhead swell has provided some great waves for each session. On Friday we should be able to surf the short window at daybreak as the swell settles down and smooths out. Starting next week the morning sessions should have great conditions with the possibility of afternoon go outs if the wind holds. Check out the live camera of the main break out in front of the hotel at Surfline.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 7/3 -
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 7/4 - Beautiful morning with good and fun waves. The size is chest high to shoulder high and little offshore wind. Treat yourself with a visit to the Native Gallery. This intimate and inviting store is located right beside Robin's. It is filled with all kinds of colorful jewels that are made with love!
Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 7/2 - MIX SSW / S Swells — 3-5ft+ and filling in — good conditions – overcast makes for a great day in the water. Outlook is good the next few days.

Southern Zone
Steve at Jazzys River House - 7/4 - Continued small waves - 3' to 4' with poor shape due mostly to rough weather. Stormy conditions, hard rains, thunder and lightning and forceful winds have had their impact on the surf scene here. There have been short windows of respite but still mostly closed out and dumping hard.
Check www.jazzysriverhouse.com for low season discounts and specials or stop by and visit Ruby in her Fine Art Studio/Gallery and ask about her popular class which she calls 'Plant Part Art'. Steve also gives surf lessons and buys, rents and sells boards. See Steve also for instruction in Traditional Taoist Internal Exercises.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 7/3 - The swell picked up overnight with some head high sets coming through the corner. It was best early, because the tide was dropping fast, all morning, making the waves just a bit too fast as it got too low. The winds were light and we have glassy conditions. Hopefully, these conditions hold up all day, as the incoming tide has started firing.
The Caribbean
Solspot - 7/5 - 6-8 feet with a dominant ENE med-period swell. Primary Swell: 11.4ft. 9 seconds 78 degrees (ENE). East-Northeast med-period swell on the way out.
