Overview
Caribbean - A quick blast of ENE swell arrives for the weekend but fades just as quickly. It will peak with some overhead sets Sunday but then drop to knee high by Tuesday afternoon and stay small til Friday when some bigger sets are expected.
Pacific - A solid South swell (190 degrees, 4.4 ft at 12 seconds) keeps it 1-2 feet overhead on the sets, fading slowly Sunday and leaving Monday with head high surf. Then it's small for the middle of the week, waist to chest high at most beach breaks, before a new SSW arrives late Thursday (3.4 ft at 16 seconds at 200 degrees) and keeps it overhead through next weekend.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 7/23 - The afternoon sessions this week have been spectacular with glassy conditions and just overhead sets. This week looks good with the consistent off-shore wind patterns and morning surfing tides. The clouds and occasional rain have helped with the glare and sunburns.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 7/22 - Its ben fun times to surf on long board and show off your fancy steps on the beach; waves in Tamarindo had been 1-2ft, fairly long period in between sets, crowded line up on the inside sand bars, mid tides activated the river mouth with some glassy rights. Winds had been funky and playful as in general the weather has been over cast and from no wind to light on shores in the late afternoon.
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 7/26 - Onshore wind but the waves are good like Chest High to Shoulder High and not to many people in the water so everyone enjoy the Midday Session!
South Nicoya Peninsula
MalpaisurfCam.com - 7/26 - This morning at 7 am waves were ches to head high, few bigger sets. Light offshore wind and mostly cloudy skies. Constant waves, good conditions, mid tide raising and good waves. Looked pretty fun, not many people surfing and plenty of waves. Swell hitting Santa Teresa and Mal Pais - Primary Swell: 4.5 ft at 14 secs Direction: S 183' - Secondary Swell: 1.3 ft at 6 secs Direction: WSW 253'
Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 7/25 - GLASSY 3-5ft and good conditions -overcast makes for a great day in the water – should be fun as the tide backs out New SSW/S filling in.

Southern Zone
Manuel Antonio
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 7/23 - In Manuel Antonio the waves are about 3 feet. Wind is minimal. Strong rip currents.
Steve at Jazzys River House - 7/23 - High tide morning following a rainy night showed overhead waves, lumpy and bumpy and mostly closed out. Three surfers picked off a few shoulders among the rubble of cross-waves and hard dumpers as the sun was trying to break through the clouds. Playa Hermosa South was as messy but smaller and Dominicalito was smaller yet. Punta Dominical had nothing to offer.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 7/26 - The surf is looking small and fun, again today, with waist to chest high waves at the wall. The conditions are currently clean and glassy. The is high, but starting to drop. I think I’ll head out in a few with the retro fish.
The Caribbean
Solspot - 7/26 - 3-4 feet with a dominant ENE short-period swell. Primary Swell: 7.6ft. 7.9 seconds 63 degrees (ENE). East-Northeast med-period swell fading.
