Overview
Caribbean - It's a quiet week on the right coast with waves only getting to chest high Tuesday and then fading back to knee to waist for the rest of the week.
Pacific - Surf will be chest to head high all week, coming from a SSW swell 2.7 ft at 14 feet, getting a little less consistent on the sets by Friday. Saturday will see a few overhead sets form a new SSW swell (197 degrees) that grows to 4.2 feet by Sunday, sending 1-2 feet overhead waves to southern facing beaches for the following three days.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 8/2 - After a week of perfect head high, blue sky conditions, the surf moved into the afternoon tides and got slightly too big to work with the variable wind conditions. The tides will begin to move into the daybreak window this weekend, and if it drops a little, should be on track for some good surf conditions. The crowds have been unpredictable during the week with the surf schools causing some congestion around the great conditions at casitas down the beach. We are starting to see some transition weather as we head for the rainy season in September.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 8/1 - Promising 2-3ft solid sets every 5 minutes, large tides due New Moon and on shore winds from mid morning until mid afternoon; just arrived today the change is radical as for yesterday e had 1ft waves every other time. Tamarindo's line up on the sand bars are crowded, summer vacationers in town having fun either swimming of surfing; therfore is important the fact that the surf instructors are emphasizing surfing safe tips and surf etiquette, understanding how to play along the water dynamics and other surf students out there. Glad to announce that Seafari CR is moving for 10 days to Long Island to keep up the learning process with the students in the area from August 20th to the 31st; reservations code CRNY019 apply for early bird disccounts. Langosta will be a good spot to go early morning within the out going tide, light breeze and usually not too crowded. Didnt have time to prepare your lunch today? Don't worry order Sushi for lunch! Free delivery Tamarindo and Langosta, 1 roll c3000 or 2 rolls c5000 call us 83450248 If there is a roll not here ask us we make it for you. Have a wonderful week!

Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 8/4 - Leftover swell and fair conditions – 3ft+ overcast makes for a great day in the water – outlook for some longer period SW/SSW swell filling in for some more size.

Southern Zone
Greg at Jazzys River House - 8/4 - Waves have been awesome! Chest to head with an occasional overhead set. Super clean in the morning and right before dark. Best time to surf will be early morning coinciding with the high tides. Also check Playa Hermosa and Playa Chaman for more beginner friendly surf.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 8/3 - The swell dropped significantly overnight, making it pretty flat around the corner with knee high waves in stormy conditions, most of the day.
