PIC OF THE WEEK: Abraham Healer from Dominical wasn't even born when the first surf report came out in 1998, but he sure surfs beyond his year. Here he is finding shade on the Caribbean coast in Playa Cocles. Photo by: GG

Community Carbon Trees is working to replicate their sustainable reforestation using fairly paid labor to the Amazon Rainforest which is suffering from deliberate fires set by farmers and ranchers. Jaco / Playa Hermosa
Chuck at Wow Surf Shop in Jaco - 4/7 - I’m hiding out in the mountains outside of Atenas. Safe cool sparsely populares and I’m close enough to everything when I take 1 hour run into town I get it all done. We are really doing a great job to keep the contagion under control here with stay at home recommendations and traffic control measures along with forcing of different business that are inessential to remain closed. Our growth rate is under 5% per day and that’s great stuff! Ticos are of course taking it hard and the economic part ya going to be tough but keep it under control too! Go Pura Vida! Hey - want to plan a next CR adventure I know that some of the hotel owners are starting to offer some prebook discounts for next December-January. Buy now - pay now - help them stay alive and in business and get a great deal! Talk to your favorite operators (CR SURF)! Thanks and stay safe, stay home! Chuck and the gang at Chucks WOW SURF
Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 4/4 - SSW FILLING IN AND BUILDING THRU OUT THE DAY 3-4ft+ BEACHES ARE CLOSED FOR Semana Santa – Costa Rica has closed borders via land, air & sea – to foreigners and non – residents until April 12th. Sitting, waiting, wishing, praying for the world.

Southern Pacific
Steve at Jazzys River House - 4/6 - Low tide this morning featured nothing. 2' - 3' waves, long closed out dumping walls with no usable shoulders. Weak offshore breeze doing little to clean up the inside. As the tide was rising so was the sideshore wind so conditions remained poor. Continued hot weather (92 degrees in the shade) makes for increased frustration over closed beaches. This too shall pass. Keep the faith.
Caribbean
Surf Forecast.com - 4/7 - ENE swell running 5 feet at 8 seconds and bringing chest to head high surf. The swell will drop down to knee high by Friday and stay small for the weekend, but more chest high waves are expected by Monday.
