Caribbean - Chest high waves from the ENE (4 feet at 8 seconds) drop back to knee high by late Tuesday but then pick up again Thursday back up to chest high from a new swell. That one peaks Saturday with some overhead sets on the reefs.

Pacific -  Multiple swells in the water from the SSW and SW mean surf will stay in the head high to overhead range through Monday before slowly dropping to waist to chest Wednesday. It stays small for the rest of the week and through next weekend. Expect only an occasional head high set at the right tides.

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 12/09 - Great head high surf for the first days of our summer.  With the tides in the morning, the off-shores are combing out perfect warm waves for the 5 hour sessions.   Although the eager crowds have been intense for the first days of good surf, things are balancing out now and there were people working their own peaks today at different tides.

Tamarindo

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 12/9 -

Fun days to surf in Tamarindo and Casitas ( across the river mouth), 2-3 ft solid and frequent, off shore winds mark the end of the rainy season. Line up here is fairly crowded, most surf schools are back in business with a minimum number of visitors, therefore it's mainly locals out there. Langosta got some good waves more consistent 3ft with a 14+ period among lines, this one spot remains for locals only because of the lack of tourists.

Local ONG's remain assisting as many as 10.000 people in Guanacaste, your donation if you can will be greatly appreciated. Below are some of the ONG's links you can contact or gofundme.com to donate.

Dominical

Steve at Jazzys River House - 12/11 - A rare morning for Dominical.  Despite a mild onshore breeze the rising tide morning session was polished glass all the way to the horizon.  3' - 4' peaks, some hollow, comparatively mellow and extremely crowded.  Excellent conditions for all levels of surfers.  Playa Hermosa and Dominicalito similar but smaller and milder.  Too small for the Point.

Jazzy's RiverHouse has original artwork for sale!  Come in for a tour of Ruby's fine art gallery and ask about her popular class - she teaches the ancient arts of weaving, plaiting, twining and sewing - all with local plant parts...what Ruby calls 'Palm Part Art'. Also check with Steve for surf lessons, board sales and rentals, Traditional Taoist Yoga classes.  Steve gives guitar lessons as well.
