AREA REPORTS

Northern Nicoya Peninsula

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 7/2 - We are surfing all day and have had some great sessions in spite the variable weather and occasionally packed conditions on the weekend since we are the only surf spot open for the visitors from other beaches.

Tamarindo

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 6/29 - Waves in Tamarindo had been fun, 2ft consistent, glassy and pretty much with no wind in the morning sessions, local crowd and few new faces trying surfing out with the local instructors. Weather patterns typical for the transition of Veranillo de San Juan with high levels of humidity, patches of clouds passing by and wind turns from south most  afternoons.

I have been surfing on a paddle board giving me access to some reefs in Langosta that are away from the usual breaks, 2-3ft waves, slow rollers but plenty of water moving in. Surfing breaks are throwing hollow and fast shore breaks, 2-3ft waves  and fairly consistent sets, giving a good ride to everyone in the line up.

Seafari Costa Rica is already open for business with the authorized health protocols published 1 month ago by ICT.

According to the Health Minister the spikes are rising as predicted for the second wave, there is a glance of 3rd phase towards reopening and by now borders and international flights are planned to reopen in August.
Meanwhile an approximation of  6000 + people are currently assisted by local ONG's your donation, if you can help will be highly appreciated; these are some local ONG's you can get in touch with:

Nosara

Surfing NosaraEli at SurfingNosara.com - 7/1 - A little dark morning, with good and big waves with onshore wind. The size is Head High to a Couple Feet Overhead.

Jaco / Playa Hermosa

Jaco

WOW Surf Shop JacoChuck at Wow Surf Shop in Jaco - 6/29 - This morning it was glassy with the swell changing from South to having more West in it and closing out, except at high tide. Size was 2-3 feet with a few 4 foot sets. Hermosa was on fire!

We’ve got a Friday special closed door sale going on this Friday, tried it last Friday seemed to work so do it again! Let me know if there is anything you need, we are able to ship almost anywhere in Costa Rica! Thanks - Pura Vida and Happy Surfing!

Playa Hermosa

Now offering Surf & Fitness Packages: Surfing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), yoga, Crossfit , healthy food & plenty of good times included! More information.

Southern Pacific

Dominical

Steve at Jazzys River House - 6/29 - Excellent conditions the past two days: overhead at higher tides, mostly double-sided peaks well spaced and following fairly clean lines.  Plenty of long rides for the small crowds.  Morning high tides this week a boon to surfers but a bust for beach walkers - no sand.  The extra ninety minutes of open beach time much appreciated.

Jazzy's RiverHouse is looking for a long term renter for their fully furnished and equipped two bedroom rental house.  Terms negotiable. Contact Steve at: jazzysriverhouse@hotmail.com or 506-8420-4406 or 2787-0310.

Caribbean

Salsa Brava

Caribbean surf forecastSurf Forecast.com - 7/2 - Waves are chest to head high from an ENE swell (4.5 feet at 8 seconds). This will pick up a foot by Sunday and stay overhead through Monday before dropping back to chest high Tuesday with onshore winds later in the week.
