Overview:
Caribbean - Pretty flat now, but some longer period swell (2 feet at 11 seconds) from a tropical storm brings some waist high waves by late Monday through Tuesday before dropping back to knee high. Then another pulse of tropical swell arrives Saturday for some chest high sets.
Pacific - Southwest and SSW swells are pushing in overhead surf for the beachbreaks (3 feet at 14 seconds). This swell holds up through next Tuesday when it drops a foot and then is back to chest to head high Wednesday. A new SSW swell (197 degrees) arrives early Thursday bringing more 1 foot overhead waves and increasing a foot Friday before backing down again for next weekend.
REMINDER - Costa Rica beaches are only open for surfing from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. unless they are under an ORANGE alert, which closes them at 9:30 a.m. Check our Facebook page for consistent updates.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 9/11 - The weather here has been in transition toward the wet season. There have been some good glassy surf sessions in the morning and around the rainy moments. Yesterday the mid morning, head high, surf looked like A Street on a good afternoon session in St Augustine, Florida. The handful of surfers out were having a ball.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 9/9 - Fun little waves in Tamarindo, 1-2 ft, short period of time among lines and fairly crowded line up on the sand bars, 99% locals and residents and 1% travelers from the city or some that haven't traveled back to their home land. Weather conditions are the usual for a good rainy season, overcast skies, shifty winds and rains during the night.

Esterillos
Esterillos Oeste Surf Report - 9/10 - The waves today are about 2-4 ft (waist to head high) Kinda disorganized but a couple spots along the reef that have a couple fun waves. The waves are supposed to have about this same size moving into the weekend and first part of next week. The conditions are dependent on the local storm action lots of tropical waves passing by causing for lots of rain and winds at night and early hours of the morning (causing the disorganized conditions) but with incoming tide in the morning still plenty of fun waves to be had. Best bet for the weekend is early morning beach and estuary Zone and as tide fills in find a spot along the reef that’s breaking the best. All along these areas beaches they’re installing tsunami alert alarms so don’t be suprised to hear them testing them today and tomorrow (as I was
) Have a great day and weekend and keep safe/healthy.
Southern Pacific

Steve at Jazzys River House - 9/11 - Rained out all morning, waves 3'-4' but wind and rain had it churning. Dismal surf conditions. Partial clearing about the time the beaches closed this afternoon. Past 3 mornings have been very productive; overhead, some peaks, fairly consistent sets, strong currents and vigorous paddle outs. Peak morning crowds reached maybe 40 surfers. Afternoons mostly blown out and stormy. Dominicalito as good as it ever gets recently. Epic peaky days, head high or more...some long rides and steep drops for 'Lito'. No serious action at the point lately. Hermosa South has seen excellent mornings as well. Harsh weather spell but full of short windows of choice conditions locally.
Jazzy's Riverhouse has a two bedroom fully furnished cabina for rent; terms negotiable. Contact Steve at: jazzysriverhouse@hotmail.com or 506-8420-4406 or 2787-0310.
Caribbean
Surf Forecast.com - 9/11 - Micro-surf on the Caribbean side with no swell until Monday, and then only 1.5 feet at 12 seconds from a tropical system that pushes in waist high waves through Tuesday. Another waist to chest high tropical bump comes next weekend.
