Caribbean - Minor short period swell brings some knee to waist high waves Monday, but otherwise it's nearly flat until next Friday when it picks up to chest high for the weekend.
Pacific - Head high to overhead surf for the weekend, with a bigger swell from the Southwest arriving Tuesday (3.5 feet at 16 seconds) which sends 2-3 feet overhead waves through Wednesday and then drops a foot each day through next Friday. It stays chest to head high through next weekend.
REMINDER - Costa Rica beaches are only open for surfing from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. unless they are under an ORANGE alert, which closes them at 9:30 a.m. Check our Facebook page for consistent updates.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 9/24 - Playa Grande is having typical rainy season surf. Yesterday there was a great glassy head to overhead session with just a handful of surfers in the water. Lots of grinning faces afterward. The good sessions are mostly a surprise between rain and sun. Surfers are flying into Liberia now. Be sure and get out of the water if there is lightning. Bring bug repellant.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 9/24 - Fun south swell passing by Tamarindo, 2ft waves with better morning sessions, double sessions week as well! Weather has been the usual for a rainy season, some days are cloudy some are partially sunny. Langosta and Grande got the best from the swell direction and reported up to 3ft waves, glassy morning sessions, local crowd mainly and some winds shifting during the low tides.

Esterillos
Esterillos Oeste Surf Report - 9/25 - We have had some fun waves this past week with morning high tides and swell moving around. Last couple of days backed down today the smallest about 2-3 waist to chest high kinda glassy but definitely leftovers . This weekend they’re calling for smaller conditions with lots of rain and storm action. Monday and thru the beginning of next week should pick up with a good size swell hitting Monday with longer periods. The problem is it will be morning low tides and not really working here until about mid tide coming in so weather permitting higher tide on the reef could produce some fun good sized surf. Keep an eye on the surf report page I’ll post some pics Monday as swell fills in.
Southern Pacific
Steve at Jazzys River House - 9/24 - High tide morning session featured some head high sets, mild offshore, some fairly clean well shaped peaks and offered plenty of short fun rides. Nothing to shout about but a welcome break from the frequent local storms. A small crowd in the lineup today with clearing blue skies above and no rain in sight. Dominicalito and Hermosa South were equally fun and uncrowded but smaller as usual. Dominical continues to be a quiet almost sleepy little town with very little tourist traffic during the country-wide lockdown.
Jazzy's Riverhouse has a two bedroom fully furnished cabina for rent; terms negotiable. Contact Steve at: jazzysriverhouse@hotmail.com or 506-8420-4406 or 2787-0310.
Caribbean
Surf Forecast.com - 9/25 - Tiny surf (1.5 ft at 8 seconds from the ENE) for the weekend with a few knee high waves for Monday. The next increase in size won't be until next Friday when it picks up to waist to chest high.
