AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 1/30 - The morning surf tides have begun with unseasonably cloudy weather and perfect glassy, off-shore, warm water surf. The afternoon sessions have been blown out for the last few days , but ridable, with smooth shoulders in the head high range on the sets. This week’s morning cycle should be good since the tides are getting weaker and there isn’t much water moving.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 1/30 - Really good time to live in Tamarindo, North swells arrived!! 4-5ft solid and up to 5 waves per set every 3 minutes, that we had to paddle on the current to stay on close to the river mouth sand bars, long waves open and glass conditions in the mornings; winds would switch in every other afternoon making it very mushy, but remains fun for longboards or paddle boards on the point breaks. Double sessions are in the horizon for another 5 days, eat well, rest well and surf twice a day!
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 2/1 - A little cloudy morning with some good and fun waves. The size is chest high to shoulder high.

Southern Pacific
Quepos/Manuel Antonio
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 1/31 - The best time to surf right now is very early in the morning or late afternoon. Conditions in the AM were fairly clean with small, shoulder high waves but with good form. As the rain moved in this AM and tide moved out conditions were choppy. Look to surf first thing in the morning.
Steve at Jazzys River House - 2/1 - At dead high tide in Dominical there are some clean peaks, smaller than yesterday but only 4 people out. Mostly long dumping walls. It looks good, but... is isn't. Check the beachbreaks in the morning as the swell drops.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 1/31 - The surf was consistently pumping fun, chest high waves all day. Lots of waves going unridden. It was fast, and difficult to position oneself on the rapidly changing waves. A little bit of local wave knowledge was very helpful in scoring good waves today. The wind was clean and glassy early, before light Zancudo winds started to chop it up, turning quickly to light but steady, southwest winds.
Caribbean
Cahuita Experience - 2/1 - Knee to waist hight peaks all over black beach in cahuita. glassy from dawn to around 930am, then the wind kicked in as usual till around 4pm. Salsa brava (advanced reef break) may have some small to medium conditions this weekend (ussually good ) If not cocles beach (good for beginners to advanced surfers)will be pumping anyway for sure!
15% off activities with promo code: experience15
Surf Forecast.com - 1/22 - Quickly fading NNW swell, dropping from waist high down to flat. It stays that way through next Tuesday.
