Overview:
Caribbean - The best days this week will be Tuesday and Wednesday, when a 6.5 foot at 10 second swell pushes in from the ENE. By Thursday it fades back to chest high and by the weekend it's almost flat again.
Pacific - The week starts with dropping swell from the SSW, down to chest to head high by Tuesday morning. By the afternoon a new SSW swell fills in, growing to 3.4 feet at 15 seconds be Wednesday and staying that size through the weekend and in to next week. Then right as that swell fades, a new bigger one sends almost double overhead surf by the 17th.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 3/4 - We are enjoying a remarkable year of excellent surf, good weather, and warm water. The wind is becoming less consistent in the afternoon as our dry season begins to head for some transition weather and rain in May. The tides are moving into the afternoon this week. Today the wind held until high tide and everyone enjoyed just overhead, blue sky surf.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 3/4 - In Tamarindo, we are having fun with the lobgo boards out, waves are 1-2ft on the best sets, its working better within the incoming tide, around 11am the wind switch and satys until late afternoon, making mushy conditions. Sand bars and small waves are the best combo for beginners, they all look like having fun with the local schools.
Counting days before the Surf Film Festival in Tamarindo March 13th and 14th.
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 3/6 - Today we have good and big waves with offshore wind. The size is shoulder high to head high.

Southern Pacific
Quepos/Manuel Antonio
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 3/5 - The wind will stay in 5 kilometers per hour during the day.
The height of the wave will remain between 2 - 3 ft. Same for Dominicalito.
For beginners, the best spot to surf green waves is here in Manuel Antonio. It's really sunny and a beautiful day. In Dominicalito best time to surf is in the morning, not good for the afternoon. Also dominical is good in the afternoon but only for white water waves because of the low tide.
Steve at Jazzys River House - 3/5 - Odd combo lately: mostly smaller waves - occasionally a little overhead at higher tides but odd because while small the waves are thick and crunchy at lower tides - more winter style than mellow summer style. Moderate crowd this morning for lower tide session. A few short barrels came through, some grabbed, most missed. Pretty well closed out but some decent longer rides amid the clean lines. Overall good conditions, blue sky, mild offshore.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 3/6 - It was another day of small, but fun, surf in the waist to chest high range at the point, with some inconsistent set waves making it around the corner, with some super fast sections. The wind was calm and glassy until about noon, when the winds began to blow onshore, making a mess of the waves this afternoon, before glassing off late this evening.
Caribbean
Cahuita Experience - 3/4 - Great conditions at the moment, head high to over head, clean waves throughout the day... great weather and swell. Wind has been minimal the last few days, I'm hopeful that it will continue this way into the weekend... most beachbreaks are gonna be hollow for sure it it keeps up.
