AREA REPORTS

Northern Nicoya Peninsula

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 3/15 - We had a couple of epic days this last week in the head and a half range.  The swell has dropped down now to a perfectly shaped head high size. The tides are moving into the morning window and the great conditions are holding for the morning session.  On many days the wind is switching to off-shore in the late afternoon for some good afternoon sessions, as a bonus, with very few surfers out.

Tamarindo

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 3/16 - Tamarindo has been fun sessions lately, 1-2 ft waves, North winds blasting along the day. Unfortunately reporting an important amount of people on the sand bars (beginners zone) it's time to stay away from crowds and social distancing is crucial to overcome these obstacles.

No events are on the agenda until new updates from official sources.

Steve at Jazzys River House - 3/16 - Nice swell currently gracing our shores.  Overhead peaks during higher tides with mostly clean lines and small crowds.  Consistent great shape making for long rides.  Blue skies with strong offshore winds in the morning and mid-day heat holding at 92 in the shade.

Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito featuring similar conditions on a smaller scale and the Point less consistent but offering some decent sessions.  Careful of the rocks at lower tides!

Pavones

Una Ola Pavones Surf CampColin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 3/16 - The swells picked up overnight, and the surf was firing with overhead waves all day.  The swell angle was really good and there were lots of super long rides to be found.  It was working on all tides today, and although there was a crowd in the lineup.  There were plenty of waves to go around.  The winds have been calm all day, and it’s glassing off right now for the evening session.  Great day of waves!
