Northern Nicoya Peninsula

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 11/17 - The morning sessions have begun over the weekend with minimal swell filling in too fat at high tide and accompanied by backwash.  The swell will bump during the week and should provide some great surf as the trades continue to increase off- shore for most of the day.  Look for one of the best windows of the year for surf this week if the swell doesn’t pick up to a size that Playa Grande won’t hold.

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 11/17 -

Small conditions in Tamarindo, classic weather for transition from rainy to dry season, winds are funky too, some afternoons switch pass 4pm others was off shore all day; perfect waves for long board and beginners, sand bars where crowded by local schools. Avellanas' point breaks are working nice for more advanced surfers, even Little Hawaii is active with the fading swell. Next important swell by the end of next week, perhaps.
Wednesday Family Table Starts again, opening next week with a guest chef. 3 Course Meal & Glass of Wine $35 per person. LIMITED SPACES, Reservations required. Please PM  Libelula lounge and lodgings in Playa Potrero.

Surfing NosaraEli at - 11/19 - Today we have a beautiful sunny morning, with small and fun waves, perfect for beginners. The size is waist high to chest high.

Community business of the week - El Chivo - If you are in Playa Pelada today visit El Chivo created a great ambiance for the people of Nosara and visitors, to hang out and enjoy good music, funky art, delicious tequilas, and casual Mexican food.

South Nicoya Peninsula

Mal Pais Surf - 11/21 - This morning at 7 am waves were waist to chest high. Off shore wind and partially clear skies. Good conditions with the rising tide, constant sets showing with nice ridable waves, looked fun, and should be good throughout all morning.

Jaco / Playa Hermosa

WOW Surf Shop JacoChuck at Wow Surf Shop in Jaco - 11/17 - Well what a nice change, Jaco rockin', lots of people in town , had a 4x4 event which helped bring the locals out and plenty of the yearly snowbird part time residents out and about. Surf is smallish but as you know it’s always fun and at least waist to chest high at Hermosa. Weather definitely is changing rains are just about gone for a few months anyways. Shop has a deal going on until end of November. 20% off regular price product cash or credit card no restrictions . Even Surfboards! Dec. 1st we will be presenting 2020 boards so make sure you come by! Pura Vida Chuck and the Crew at WOW SURF!

Playa Hermosa

Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 11/16 - Fading SSW 2-3ft – Tide going low and good conditions, FUN FUN FUN – Beautiful Day Here in Playa Hermosa.

Southern Pacific

Steve at Jazzys River House - 11/18 - A rather tame tea party out there the past two days.  Small, relatively slow, soft waves - a rarity for Dominical.  Difficult to catch these 3'-4' waves don't get too steep before they just fade.  Night long rains and afternoon storms keep the water rough and messy.  Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito even smaller and more inconsistent.  No Point action.

Hotel Roca Verde is still hosting Friday night live music with the G-String Cowboys opening the show about 7pm.  Come early for great food, drink and dancing.

Check for specials and discounts or visit Ruby-Kim in her fine arts studio/gallery and ask about her popular class which she calls 'Palm Part Art'. Learn the ancient crafts of weaving, twining, plaiting, sewing, etc. See Steve for relief from body aches and pains as his East/West massage therapy can be most helpful. Steve also offers surf lessons and board sales and rentals as well as private instruction in 'Traditional Taoist Internal Exercises'.

Una Ola Pavones Surf CampColin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 11/18 - The surf was tiny with knee to waist high waves, and the wind conditions were calm and glassy despite early morning rain storm moving through the area.  We need a pulse of swell soon, as this is getting desperate!

Salsa Brava

Caribbean surf forecastSurf - 11/20 - Small ankle to knee high surf (2.5 feet at 6 seconds). Will stay that way through Monday, when it picks up a foot.
