Overview:
Caribbean - Surf is from the ENE, 3.5 feet at 8 seconds. It stays the same size until the weekend at it picks up to 4.5 feet at 9 seconds, so head high sets. Then it drops back to knee to waist by Tuesday and stays small through the end of next week. Some tropical systems crossing over Central America make send some NNE swell down, too.
Pacific - The 1-2 foot overhead surf drops to head high by Thursday, but a new Southwest (4.5 feet at 15 seconds from 217 degrees) starts Friday and maxes Saturday with more 2 feet overhead waves. It dips a couple of feet again next Monday and Tuesday but Wednesday another South Southwest pumps in surf 2-3 feet overhead through the next weekend.
REMINDER - Most beaches of Costa Rica will be open for surfing on May 18th, for Mondays - Fridays, only from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Plus some National Marine Refuges open for surfing ALL days. Find out more here.

AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 6/2 - The beach is open and we are surfing. It is raining daily and there are occasional glassy sessions. We are expecting rainy weather for the next three weeks and then our off shore Indian summer until mid August. The local surfers and long term guests are killing the uncrowded surf. Some of the restaurants and hotels are carefully open. The virus did not come to this part of Costa Rica. We are still vigilant. Our July regulars are waiting to see if there are flights so they can make the journey.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 6/1 - We start June with an official statement of all beaches to open from 5am to 8am, tides kind of match for the week, wishing joy to all the communities that are allow on the water now. Weather conditions are the usual for the transitional to rainy season, casual showers mostly at night, shifty winds all day long and some days a pretty stormy ocean, waves in Tamarindo had been fun 1-2 ft most days, strong currents with the change of tides and a larger crowd, all neighbors having fun.
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 6/1 - We are super excited to be in Guiones again, it's nice to see the beach with people enjoying! Today we have a dark morning with chopped water and small waves. The low tide is at 4:47PM and the High tide is at 10:33AM.

Southern Pacific
Quepos/Manuel Antonio
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 6/3 - Today Wednesday 03 of June, waves from Manuel Antonio are having good conditions for the people how love surfing and spend time in the water. With the low tide at 6 am in the morning and with the high at 12:20 mid day. The height will remain between 3-4 ft during the day. Wind will be to 2 to 5 kph with a cloudy morning a sunny mid day and it will rain in the afternoon. Same conditions for Dominicalito best time to surf here in the morning.
Steve at Jazzys River House - 6/2 - Early morning low tide session was pretty poor. 4'-5', very thick and dumping hard with few shoulders. Fewer surfers out this week than last. We're in the midst of a storm cell that is bringing hard rains and cloudy skies - a little odd for late May, early June. Despite short windows of sunshine the prevalent stormy weather is not helping the surf conditions. Dominical continues to be a 'Ghost Town' with very little human activity which is bringing out the wild animal life. Monkeys in town in something not seen in recent times.
Caribbean
Cahuita Experience - 6/2 - Small waves for most of the week, but will pickup throughout the weekend. Cocles will probably be a safe bet for the weekend. 2 for 1 surf lessons with Cahuita Experience Surf School. For all of june with 'experience2020' promo code.
