AREA REPORTS
Northern Nicoya Peninsula

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 1/20 - Perfect warm, clear, glassy conditions, but small, small, small. Really fun shoulder high sets.

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica - 1/22 - Fun waves in Tamarindo, long 2ft rides and random 3ft every other hour, busy as usual as this time of the year, although the river mouth sand bar and casitas where not so crowded and sure there were no foamies as those waves within the mid tides are fast and hollow. Strong gusts of winds during the first half of the day, now with the moon past the last quarter satage, we may have changes on the atmosphere pressure and let the south wind get by the norther pacific during the afternoons.
The party continues in Tamarindo, as we ticos say, its about December 51st, BPM just finished on Sunday and prior to it we had Ocaso festival and prior to that all the usual Holidays concerts and parties. We all want to have fun, just do not forget manners and that you are sharing someone's else social area and public area; let's keep it clean and safe for all of us. To slow down that beat, check out l Chiringuito Tamarindo at 5pm Sunset Sessions.
Nosara
Eli at SurfingNosara.com - 1/22 - Windy and cloudy morning with good and big waves. The size is shoulder high to head high.
Community Pick - Robins - If you are in Playa Guiones today visit Robins cafe and Ice Cream selected as 'Our Pick' by Lonely Planet. Known for fresh, top quality produce, from-scratch, great tasting food.
South Nicoya Peninsula
MalpaisurfCam.com - 1/22 - This morning at 7 am waves were waist to chest high with constant head high sets. Off shore wind and partially clear skies. Really fun surf as the tide was just starting to raise. Constant sets showing with fast and hollow peaks, not many people surfing. Good waves all morning.
Jaco / Playa Hermosa

Christina at Surf Inn Hermosa - 1/21 - FUN FUN FUN – SUNNY SKIES AND GREAT DAYS AT THE BEACH IN HERMOSA SW SWELL – WAIST HIGH 3ft+ AND FUN.

Southern Pacific

Steve at Jazzys River House - 1/22 - nconsistent is the current byword. Strange off-season storms and unsettled weather are spoiling some nice conditions but when it's good it's excellent. Low tide morning session small 4'-5' with lots of peaks and barrels and clean conditions thanks to partial clearing of the sky and a steady offshore breeze. Very few out. Higher tide sessions - bigger waves and bigger crowds. Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito similar and smaller as usual. No Point action.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 1/21 - The surf was flat again today. Weak and gutless knee high surf at the top of the point. Nothing really making it around the corner today, though there was a small pulse that showed up then disappeared, going flat again. The winds were light onshore most of the morning, but glassed off later in the day.
Caribbean
Surf Forecast.com - 1/22 - Quickly fading NNW swell, dropping from waist high down to flat. It stays that way through next Tuesday.
