Overview:
Caribbean - The swell is making right now, up to 2 feet overhead at Salsa and even the points are working. But by Tuesday it's back to chest high and by Thursday down to knee to waist with continued small surf through next weekend.
Pacific - Background SSW and SW swells bring only knee to waist high surf with a few chest high sets Monday before going back to small. Some swell is coming though, on New Years Day there are a couple of longer period swells, only 1.5-2 feet, but enough to push in some overhead sets to start 2020 off right.

Northern Nicoya Peninsula
Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas - 12/19 - The off-shores are consistent and light. Playa Grande is enjoying small ( head high sets) and perfect shape with twin sessions in the morning and again in the afternoon. Next week looks good for small waves and lots of party. If it comes up a foot or two, it could get all time with blue sky conditions and crystal clear, warm water.
Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica -12/19 - Small conditions in Tamarindo 2ft solid and consistent, been a NW we are on a great spot to surf early within the incoming tides, light off shore breeze that has been switching around noon and stays thru the end of the day. Very busy sand bars with local surf schools and beginners, point breaks are lit, be patient and keep up the surfing etiquette.

Southern Pacific
Steve at Jazzys River House - 12/21 - Summer surf is here! Small, semi-peaky, kinda slow, almost too mellow at times. Thick, heavy, crunchy waves have faded and the lineup is getting crowded. The skies are blue, haven't had a storm for a while so we're calling it the beginning of summer. Morning high tide sessions have seen clean conditions and gentle surf even glassy at times.
Playa Hermosa South and Dominicalito have followed suit as usual with their normal downsize. As expected no action at Punta Dominical at all.
Hotel Roca Verde is back to hosting live music with Ben Jammin' and a new version of the Howlers but super fiddler Nancy Buchan will also be adding to the mix once again. Music starts around seven on Friday nights.

Quepos/Manuel Antonio
Luis at Manuel Antonio Surf School - 12/19 - The wind will stay 6 to 8 kilometers per hour during the day. The height of the wave is 0.6 meters. Same for Dominicalito.
Colin at Una Ola Surf Camp - 12/12 - The surf was flat today with ankle high waves making it around the corner. When it’s this small you really need to time the tides to catch anything. The best bet was at the top of the point, but bring a longboard if you want to take advantage of the tiny surf.
Caribbean
Surf Forecast.com - 12/22 - Maxing ENE swell 8.3 feet at 10 seconds sending head high to overhead surf to the Caribbean, bigger at Salsa. Expected to drop to waist to chest high by Tuesday and nearly flat for the weekend.
